CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Children and young people come to therapy when experiencing a range of issues; including low confidence/self-esteem, difficulties relating to others, anxiety, depression, low mood, problems at school, issues with eating and more. Spectra Psychology is here to help your child or young person to begin to cope with these challenges.

INTERVENTIONS OFFERED

A range of high quality psychological therapies are offered suit the needs of children and young people, including:

  • Play Therapy
  • Therapeutic Play
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Children and Young People
  • Mindfulness Skills for Children and Young People
  • Coming soon - EMDR for Children and Young People

All interventions are currently offered on an individual basis. Please note that information regarding content of sessions will not routinely be discussed with parents/carers unless concerns regarding their well-being/welfare arise.

WHAT NEXT?

Prior to progressing with treatment, I offer a 30 minute assessment phone call with a parent/carer, followed by an hour long assessment meeting with the child/young person (if under the age of 16). All subsequent sessions with children and young people last 50 minutes.
